[From Stephen Trew] Today is Steve Jobs Day in California. The governor of California, Jerry Brown, has declared today Steve Jobs Day, with a memorial taking place to honour Apple's co-founder. "A private memorial is also taking place today, with prominent Silicon Valley executives in attendance, along with those close to Jobs. Those attending were asked to respond to Emerson Collective, a philanthropic organisation established by Jobs' wife, Laurene Powell Jobs. Apple is holding a separate event for employees on its Cupertino campus on Wednesday. According to the internal memo from CEO Tim Cook, it will be a celebration of Jobs' life. Apple Stores will also be closed for an hour on that day, so employees can watch a live webcast of the celebration, reports 9to5Mac. "

[From Hans] I guess it was only a matter of time before they were able to port Siri to the iPhone 4. "And in the space of just a few hours, Mr. Troughton-Smith has already managed to improve performance of the app on the iPhone 4 significantly, although Apple's servers are still unreachable. Check out a newer YouTube video showing off some seriously smooth scrolling action after the break. "

[From Stephen Trew] HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio review. "We had some hands-on time with HTC's new European Android flagship a short while back, but it wasn't nearly enough to answer all our questions about how the 4.3-inch, 1.5GHz dual-core XE compares to the original 1.2GHz Sensation, or whether the implementation of Beats Audio was anything more than a cunning scheme cooked up between the manufacturer's marketeers and Dr. Dre's agent. Now, though, this phone has been our closest companion for long enough to reveal its true colors. They're red, primarily, but there's a whole rainbow of detail right after the break."

[From Alison at Astraware] Astraware® is proud to announce their latest app, Mahjong of the Day, is now available on the App Store for iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®. Mahjong of the Day compliments the company’s existing feature-rich Astraware Mahjong game, which includes 30+ puzzle layouts, an unlockable trophy tile set and a global daily puzzle challenge.
