Blogging from 35,000ft

FreeSnap998
Guess where I am, as I write this I am 35,000 feet, heading towards Canadian airspace enroute to JFK. The aircraft I am on allows for data communications, it doesn't mean wifi I am updating this from my iPhone but it does allow for text messages, tweets, PalmAddict updates and of course some light web browsing. It's great, it's a wonderful way to spend a few hours whilst crossing the Atlantic. Anyway I hope that you are having a great Christmas Eve.

Apple Had More Web Traffic Than Wal-Mart in November

FreeSnap994 [From Stephen Trew] Pretty impressive. "Hard as it might be to believe, Apple attracted more online visitors in the United States during November than Wal-Mart. According to a comScore press release first noted by Ad Age, Apple’s Web properties saw more than 79 million U.S. unique visitors last month. Meanwhile, Wal-Mart saw nearly 59 million. "

Use Siri on Your Mac

FreeSnap993 [From Hans] Use Siri on Your Mac, looks pretty cool. "Air Dictate is a clever little app that ports the power of Siri over to the Mac. Kind of. It doesn't have any of the bells and whistles of Siri (don't go starting conversations!) but rather, uses the extremely accurate speech recognition engine in Siri to dictate text to your Mac."

Replacing a Palm TE with a Kindle Fire

FreeSnap992 [From Lyle Beidler] I gave my wife a Kindle Fire for Christmas, and she is already starting to transition her calendar, todo’s, contacts, and notes from her old, beloved, Palm TE into her Kindle. We were blown away by the beautiful screen, snappy response, and plethora of apps available. She’s very excited about skipping forward a few generations in mobile technology!

2012 iPad Roadmap: Don't Expect a 7-Incher

FreeSnap991 [From Stephen Trew] More predictions. "With strong demand for the Kindle Fire and Nook driving demand for 7-inch displays above the 9.7-inch tablet display size popularized by the iPad, rumors are circulating once again that Apple may be planning a 7-inch tablet of its own. But there’s likely very little to them, just as there was very little to their predecessors."
