T/X Palm Pre now?

Hi Sammy,

Tried the newly-released TealOS on my T/X. Truly Amazing! It has the textured-look and feel of the Palm Pre interface.  Everything is within a simple swipe. I love the silkscreen effect where you just layer your app icons over the opening screen with a simple touch. Bye the way the opening screen is exactly the same as shown in the Palm Pre adverts. Then to top it all off there is the floating launcher which can open up in an application. While it may be just window dressing until the real thing comes along, it is truly hard not to like. Consider it  practice for the new Palm Pre Web OS. For diehard T/X'ers like myself who will hang on to their device until it dies, it makes you feel like you have upgraded your T/X to the new Palm Pre. Make the jump to TealPoint for details.

Stylish charging on the go!

Tedbakersixparkcharger I forgot to bring the charger for my cell on a recent trip to my cottage. I did bring my Proporta "Ted Baker" mobile device charger for my T/X. I always charge it up and take it with me on trips in case the power goes out. I hooked up my cell phone to the charger using a special head for my cell. I left it alone for a few minutes and voila-- it had fully charged my cell. I was astounded as this was the second charge I got from the charger! I have received many comments and raised eyebrows when I pull this gizmo out of its stylish carry-all bag. I found out about it on the PA website. Keep up the good work, Sammy.

T/X Crime Buster

My wife is an avid reader of crime fiction. She has all her favourite authors (300+) and their books on index cards. I created a spreadsheet on my T/X. Now when we go to the library all of the info is in the "Palm" of my hand.

My Electronic Newspaper

With Resco Neews, I am able to pick out my favourite local feeds and create my own electronic newspaper. I set my feeds to update at 6am, so that I can read the local news on my T/X with my morning coffee.  I also have feeds for jokes, thought for the day, reviews of the latest movies, sports, sayings by famous people etc. as well as major world headlines. Can it get any better for a newshound such as myself?

A day in my T/X life

Thanks Sammy for letting me be an associate writer for PA. I have been a "Palm Addict" for several years ever since getting my first Palm Tungsten E for my birthday. Prior to that I used a Casio BOSS with a "wopping" 64KB memory to keep my contacts, appoinments and expenses.

I am now using a Palm T/X for everything. For example, I begin each day reading my and my wife's horoscopes and thought for the day. I check your site several times a day and have tried a lot of the software mentioned. I update myself with world's news and check emails. I glance at the weather forecast using Kmeteo. Recently I switched from a handwritten cheque register to SplashMoney to keep track of my finances on the go on my T/X. I also use Splashshopper to make a quick list of groceries, movies to see, books I want to read, a travel checklist etc. I thought I would never use such a program but there I was in the grocery aisles the other day, recording the brandnames of my favourite items and the unit price on my T/X. Just like a "mystery shopper". The grocer looked at me strange. I check the Metacritic website and record DVDs I want to watch, the major star and the metacritic ranking. I don't always go by the ranking but it is a guide. When I have idle time I play my favourite games such as wordsearch, wordpop and card games and listen to country music. By the way I am not advertising for any particular palm applications but simply stating what works for me.

Your site is a testament to fact that Palm is definitely not dead. It is the go-to-place for Palm die-hards. Keep up the good work!
