[From Stephen Trew] Some interesting figures on smartphone ownership in the USA. Most people under 35 now own a smartphone. The increase from last year has been astonishing, most age groups have seen ownership increase by 15-20% in a year. "While only 43 percent of all Americans with a wireless contract have a smartphone, the vast majority of those under 45 have one. In the 25-34 age range, some 62 percent of mobile adults have one of the more powerful devices, while about 54 percent of those in the 18-24 and 35-44 age brackets have a smartphone, according to Nielsen. The figure is around 40 percent for the 12-17 set and for those 45 to 54."
