Because of my time parameters I don't necessarily get the time to surf websites so I use RSS newsreaders and applications like flipboard to access my favourite websites and also what is happening in regards to my friends social network feeds. I guess it's all about making better use of my time and allowing me to be more efficient. And I guess that this, for me personally, is also a great way to use my phone in that it helps me manage my time more effectively, which I'm sure you have read about in my previous user thoughts . However even the most simplest tasks I can manage effectively using my mobile device .
Even though I have a task app on my iPhone every now and again something of high importance will crop up that needs my attention. I may be away from my office or from home but I need to be reminded of it just as soon as I have desktop access. The one thing I will do it is to send myself an e-mail, in the subject line I will include a brief summary of what that task is. This way, when I looked at my inbox I will see what exactly the task is that I need to do. It is a simple process and one that I can do very quickly from my iPhone, it is very useful and it allows me to act urgently upon tasks that I need to perform. It is a simple measure that just works.
I also like to write notes, regular readers will have seen my ink thoughts and that is something that is ongoing. iPad ink thoughts on my replace post-it notes for me which become messy whilst at the same time I am also prone to losing important information and data/notes that I keep on post-it is. However writing notes is effectively easy for me. I keep my iPad on my desk and whenever I am using the phone and need to take notes I simply pick up the stylus and write the notes that I need. It is easy and again, just does the trick.
Finally we all know what it is like when we are reading magazines and we see an editorial that's want to keep. Keeping it in a scrapbook was something many people did previously however, with my iPhone I can take a snapshot and then upload it to Evernote. I can then access the note from any of my mobile devices or indeed from my MacBook. I can also show the link with other people and I can then download that snippets of information to whatever mobile device I am using, I can then refer to it should I need to. Now it has become the most practical app that I use daily and it also saves me so much time as well as it saves me having to cut out magazine articles, photographs, snippets of news. I can keep them in a digital, electronic format and because it is stored in the cloud, it is unlikely to get lost.
So I hope that some of the more traditional ways I use my iPhone and mobile devices help you, or provide inspiration to do similar things to help enhance your business or personal life.
I hope that you are all having a great Tuesday.
