I was lucky enough to play with the HP TouchPad last week when I was at the airport awaiting for my flight and I have to say that it was great to use. Its light, fast and easy to use and I have to say that I was impressed.
More importantly tablets are great devices, they are awesome tools for business and pleasure and I know I'd be lost without my iPad. When I am traveling on a short break, maybe for a weekend vacation or if I just want to travel light then the iPad is absolutely ideal because I don't have to drag my Mac with me everywhere. Its also handy for jotting down those quick personal thoughts, notes or indeed allowing me to update PalmAddict. I can just go straight to the app I blog from and update. I can also watch a movie on the plane, listen to some music, catch up on work; so much I can do on the iPad that allows me to leave the Mac at home.
A multitude of tablets is good, however I'm not sure whether they can steal Apple's thunder. The iPad was original and Apple have been quick to update the iPad and they can afford a great marketing campaign. But competition keeps Apple innovative and personally I like that and I continue to look forward to seeing how Apple innovate but one thing is for sure and it's that I will continue to use my iPad and I am grateful for it.
