[From Dierk Seeburg, E] If my visit to the local Sprint store is any indication, Palm and Sprint are doomed. The less than enthusiastic Sprint store employees were standing around while I was searching for the Palm Pre display in the store. After finding the display I was disappointed to see that neither one of the two Palm Pres on display were in working order - what gives? I alerted the store personnel who tried to fix one of the Palm Pres by adjusting its charging position on the Touchstone charger. Apparently it needs to be positioned just so to make it charge. The other Palm Pre was frozen and trying to push some buttons didn't do anything, so the other clerk reset it in which state it got stuck so she reset it again. After all this it finally worked but it turns out that it was not very usable because the welcome video apparently takes up so much processing power that the device is at times painfully slow and makes it look like a lemon. Really a bummer because I quite like the device! Feels good in your hand and very intuitive to use! However, I echo some of the sentiments in the article here.
