My biggest user experience change has been brought about by two retail software programs, each of which I highly recommend.
OLIVE TREE BIBLE READER – these guys have come a long way since I used to use their product on an old Palm IIIxe. Even on the Centro, their display is highly optimized and fine tuned for readability and usability. Plus, with their multi-platform support, I was able to buy the new ESV Study Bible just once and have it on both my Centro and my Touch using just one purchase. Highly recommended in every way!
TEAL LOCK – I don’t see much mention of this, but the Centro comes with a mega-annoying “Emergency Call” button on the screen whenever it is locked with a password. (I’m sorry but mobile phones that have business and personal data need to be locked!) After calling 911 accidentally three times, I was frantic to be able to get rid of that button. There is no way to turn the button off unless you replace the locking system with something more robust. TealLock to the rescue! With TealLock you have complete control over the text and layout of the password screen, and fine-grained control over which apps can run without the phone’s password being available. You can even set up a custom button whereby a finder of your lost phone can call you on another phone number! I haven’t used even half the features of this excellent program.
Thanks for a great blog as always.
