Consider yourself warned before jumping into the bandwagon of sacrificing your iPhone, because most of you must have heard about the unofficial QuickPWN software for iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 2.
It is unofficial since it's not made by the iPhone Dev-Team, who have released Yellowsn0w the famous unlocking iPhone software, but instead it is made by a Russian hacker. "They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and so perhaps we should be flattered that so many ad-supported sites are now using our own tools to create unofficial jailbreaks," says Dev-Team in their blog post.
It's not that those smart guys at Dev-Team is uncapable of releasing a new QuickPWN software for the latest beta software from Apple, but they simply doesn't want to play cat & mouse game with Apple during a beta period. What comes worst is that Apple might even tighten the screws, and the Dev-Team would burn methods just for a beta release. And that's not all, here's the biggest hurdle:
"THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT THE UNOFFICIAL QUICKPWN RELEASES IS THAT IF YOU USE THEM, YOU WILL KILL YELLOWSN0W, POSSIBLY FOREVER."
So for you who has "itchy-update-fingers", just restrain yourself a bit and show some dignity will ya? ;-p
