From engadget - the Sprint Pre page no longer lists the new device's ability to tether to a bluetooth laptop, one of its many "better than iphone" features. For people new to the "palm on sprint" game, the carrier has a steep "phone as modem" fee that is almost universally avoided by Treo and centro owners using one of the various available hacks or software packages that funnel laptop data through the phone without requiring the Phone as Modem package. A lot of people were excited that Sprint's Pre page listed the tethering ability, because it suggested Sprint was moving away from that model. It's a little early to guess which way they'll actually go with the Pre. This may just be the first hit in a new game of tetherball with Sprint.
