[The photo you see is an untouched photo taken with my iPhone 3G under normal exhibit display conditions]
The wife and I decided to take part of our vacation in Houston, TX and visit the science museum. I had already prepurchased tickets for the BodyWorlds exhibit and the tickets also granted us access to the main museum floor as well. My iPhone served as GPS and audiobook player in the car. Once we got the the museum we had a little wait before everything opened, so my wife started watching TV shows on her iPhone and I fired up Stanza to finish my eBook about Detective John Corey. Stanza's features right now outweighed that of the eReader program and they even plan to add autoscroll in the near future. What also amazed me about this app was the ability to log into the Fictionwise ebook store and purchase and download ebooks right from my phone. The trips to the computer, the happier I am! Anyway, once inside, the iPhone went away and out came the digital camera. My digital camera is a little old: 5mpx, but it has different flash modes annd shutter settings, so I thought it would be good for the museum pictures. About halfway through the gem exhibit, my wife decides to take out her iPhone and try some pics and I did the same. For the remainder of the visit, the camera stayed in the bag and I captured everything I wanted via my iPhone. My iPhone was also faster at precessing and storing the pictures, so I could take pictures faster with it. A long time ago, I purchased the Socket Mobile USB Battery (5000mAh). I charged this up and kept it with me wile at the museum. Since I was wearing a hoodie, you couldn't see the wire running from my waist into pocket recharging my iphone. When my wife and I went to the IMAX to see a 3D movie she remarked that her Phone was almost dead and she wanted to know how mine was still very much alive since I have been using more, using 3G and push. I showed her the battery packet. She smiled and said that that was very smart. Being the gentleman that I am, I offered to charge up her phone during the movie. After our day at the museum, (BTW, the only place to eat in the museum is McDonalds and that's not good for people on diets, but we diligently and accurately transcribed our sins into Absolute Fitness and watched our sodium levels skyrocket!), we headed for our hotel. Out came the fully charged iPhone and its GPS. My wife wrestled it away from as I almost hit a curb while trying to navigate and drive. Once at the hotel, we needed dinner, so we used Google Maps and Urban Sppon to find a nearby restaraunt. Very reasonably priced (happy me) with romantic lighting, good service, and good food (happy wife). Back at the hotel, I set an alarm for the complimentary breakfast and went to bed. The next day we went to movie/bistro. It was really neat; all the chairs were like computer desk chairs (the good ones!) and you push a little button and the light comes on and some comes and takes your order and then brings you your food. No need to miss the movie, unless you have to go to the bathroom. Of course, the iPhone showed us around town via GPS and we eventually ended up at the mall so I could go the Apple Store and pick up an extra power plug for my wife's iPhone. Word to the wise...do not go see Yes Man at the theater and then go to an Apple Store. I went to buy a $20 adapter and left with a $260 bill. On the bright side, my wife's birthday is already taken care of and she gets to play with her new sound dock now. I, on the other hand, picked up a new InCase PowerSlider for my iPhone 3G. (review coming soon.) After spending all our money, we went back to the hotel played a few board games and went to bed. The next morning we drove home via GPS and nice music.
