[From Bob Russell at MobileRead] Until the end of time, we will lament the feature that we don't have on our latest mobile device. But it's amazing what power we have right now in the palm of our hand. There is more probably power in a handheld than in the NASA moon shot program when it started. When Sammy started Palm Addict so many years ago, I'm sure he was fascinated and impressed by the ability to hold addresses in a PDA, and to even be able to sync them with a desktop computer for backup. I sure was when I first saw what a Palm Pilot could do. Then we got color displays, rechargeable batteries, more memory and hi res screens and it changed the whole landscape. All of a sudden it seemed that the possibilities were endless. Now, not only are they multimedia computers, PIMs and specialty devices all in one, but with smartphones we have the internet in our hands as well. We've come a long way, but and yet we are just beginning. Think of the new secret device to be revealed soon by Jeff Hawkins. Or the new UMPCs, like the Samsung Q1 series. If you love mobile computing, it's a time to be very excited, and the future is very bright!
