I love screensavers and I was really happy awhile back when I learned that Handyent has some great PDA screensavers! I got the Riverland screensaver when it was new and loved it! It was so fun to sit and watch the different things going on and the graphics are so good! Then I got the Timberland screensaver and liked it too but not as much. The last one I got was The Tribe and so far it's my favorite one! The graphics are great and things are happening all the time! The night sky is beautiful and I love when the lights come on in the temple! The people of the tribe are so cute and it's so fun to watch what they do! I see that now The Tribe 2(pictured) is out but I don't have that one. It looks very good though!
If you haven't seen any of Handyent's cute screensavers, go check them out!
I know this isn't Palm related but I also love screensavers on my desktop pc! I used to look up free screensavers on google all the time and see what all I could find. I found some nice ones that I was impressed with. Then one day I typed in "3D screensavers" and I hit the mother load! I found 3Planesoft they had some amazing screensavers to choose from! You have to pay for these but they are sooooooooo worth it! So far my favorite two are the Ancient Castle 3D Screensaver and the Watermill 3D Screensaver! The Ancient Castle screensaver just blew my mind the first time I saw it! I was in complete awe and I just sat here in this chair for like 45 minutes staring at my screen, watching the scenes go by! This is the best screensaver I have ever seen!!!! It's amazing! There is a beautiful castle on a cliff and two waterfalls are cascading in front of the castle. You can set your screensaver up to show real time or you can speed it up. The screensaver can start in the morning or at night. I love watching the morning turn to afternoon and then to sunset and night! The water looks so real! There are sound effects like water running and birds singing and there is beautiful music playing in the background! The screensaver goes on and on and on! You get to go inside the castle too and I love seeing the lit up stained glass lanterns! That is one of my favorite things! I also love to see the branches on the trees swaying in the gentle breeze! This is the most beautiful and peaceful screensaver!
Here is a quote from the 3Planesoft website about the Ancient Castle 3D Screensaver:
"Ancient Castle 3D Screensaver has been specially created using the real castles and reflects the medieval fortifications building codex of 12-14th century. The screensaver takes you inside the buildings though every level to show what it was like to live back then."
The watermill screensaver is wonderful also!!! I love seeing the patches of sunlight hitting the waterwheel and seeing the wood grain details and seeing the rock details on the house!
If you enjoy screensavers on your desktop pc and you've never heard of 3Planesoft, do yourself a big favor and go check out their website!
Here are some screenshots I got from the screensavers as they were running on my computer.
You do have to have a pretty good video card in your computer to be able to run these screensavers.
The minimum requirement is:
64 MB Direct3D 8.0 compatible hardware accelerated video card and
P-II 500 Mhz or equivalent processor
