[From Andrew Davis at Mobile Optimized] Interesting... I almost missed this today. According to this prnewswire link. GoodLink plans to support the new WM 5.0 powered Treo. This is interesting on a few fronts. For one, this brings GoodAccess with it, which Windows Mobile doesn't really have right now. For another, it means that people that haven't moved to Exchange 2003 will still have an option. Supposedly, there is an upcoming service pack to Exchange 2003 that will add/enhance push email from Exchange to wireless devices. The combination of this forthcoming service pack, plus the new Treo running WM was thought to slightly obsolete GoodLink in some regards. However, just as there are many companies still running NT 4.0, there are many that are still running Exchange 2000 and this means they can still do push email out of Exchange. GL also supports many different phones. They won't be limited to only working with the WM powered Treo. They'll be able to work with other WM and Palm powered devices as well. And last of all, this is good news for companies that might like to support multiple devices. If using GL instead of Active Sync, a company can have both WM powered and Palm OS powered devices all managed through the same console.
Forgive my love of GoodLink, but their product on my Treo has changed the way I do email, calendaring, etc. :)
