PalmSand

One of the big internet crazes of last year: the falling sand game, came to Palm a while ago.

There are two versions currently available on the internet. Version 1.00, which is freeware, and can be downloaded from here. The latest version, which was released a few weeks ago can be downloaded here; and while this version has a few more features, it will cost you £1.95 ($3.95).

At the moment the game is fairly simple, there are only two 'elements,' which are wall and... well, sand. The features are nowhere near as advanced as the ones that can be found on the desktop versions; however, it's a fun little game which will give the user some kind of zen in dropping pieces of virtual sand.

Overall, I think that even though the cost of the product is very low, it isn't quite worth paying for yet, i think it would be better to get the earlier freeware version of the game. However PalmSand is something to watch, it has a lot of potential, and a more developed version of this game would be a fantastic (if not indispensable!) Palm application.

Also, there is a Windows Mobile version of this game called 'Pocket Sand' which appears to be much more advanced than PalmSand; in fact, it's the kind of thing that makes me wish that I had a device running windows mobile... There are many more elements and the game is much more flexible. You can read more about it here.

A normal morning with my Palm TX

&t

I don't use the Palm's alarm feature, though I probably should. Especially seeing as I was hanging around on MUDs late into the night by Secure Shelling into my laptop from the Palm. So I eat my breakfast (and other non-essential things that are in no way Palm related, such as getting dressed), and plug my SD card into my laptop, add some music to keep me sane during the day, along with some word documents to work on when I have a spare minute; as well as adding all three million RSS posts that magically appeared overnight :) I shut my laptop down and sit downstairs waiting to go, checking my email and playing SFcave (the game that just never gets old!). By that time I've had a blissful morning with my TX, and set off to... Well, have a blissful rest of the day with my Palm too!
