I'm sat in on my local coffee shop, well the closest to where I am, dictating this to my iPhone to my, testing out the Quick Voice Pro application, just to see how well it tackles my dictation. It seems to be doing a good job on the test dictation and this post is an example of how it copes with my dictation with no changes. 10 out of 10. I can see this being an excellent utility and a big help to updating the site. More deets after the jump.

It hurts so much when it hits the right spot, and that is your pocket. I don't even want to ask my friends who have bought the iPhone 3G when it was first released here, in Indonesia just less than two months ago.
"The OS is great. There’s no ifs ands or buts; it’s really refreshing to see something that’s brand new with a UI unlike anything else out there. The only problem with this is, Palm’s never been a hardware company that anyone’s really cared about. They have been the furthest thing from innovative since circa-2003 — their hardware has always been second rate at best and it doesn’t seem to be changing now."

[From Joel] There is a mega list of changes to Pocket Informant 1.02 for the iPhone as listed on this page and thanks to Joel for the heads up. These are only a FEW of the changes, the full list is here...

If you have an iPhone / iPod Touch then take a look at a good time saving program. "Type much faster on your iPhone or iPod touch by creating abbreviations — or "shortcuts" — that automatically insert frequently used words, phrases, or even whole paragraphs.
Let your iPhone or iPod touch do the typing for you. For example, typing "cu" could automatically insert "see you later". Or typing "adr" could insert your entire, 3-line mailing address, including line breaks. "pb" could insert "Patrick L. Barry, MD, Ph.D."
Similar to AutoType on the BlackBerry, AutoText in Microsoft Word, and typing macros in many programs." Really great program, I'll be purchasing to give it a try. Make the jump.

[From Hans] The Information Week talks about how the Palm Pre is a serious threat to the iPhone. "Palm's last, best gasp may be in fact a lifesaver. The Pre drew early rave reviews, and the news keeps getting better as the device nears launch date.
The better news for Palm is that Verizon has also committed to shipping the Pre once the Sprint (NYSE: S) exclusivity window expires in 6 months, which means Palm isn't betting its future on a network that is hemorrhaging customers at an alarming rate.
Initially the Pre will only be available on the Sprint network, which while it has done a great job of marketing itself of late (particularly with those awesome black and white spots with CEO Dan Hesse), and is racing to extend its 4G WiMAX network as quickly as possible, is nevertheless the poor relation among the major U.S. carriers."
