My
youngest child has very mild cerebral palsy. She is doing very well,
thanks in part to therapy services she receives through the school and the
state. Last week her physical therapist had to do some standardized
testing for her annual review. One test required her to time my daughter with
a stopwatch while she performed a task, but the therapist could not find a
stopwatch.
I pulled out my trusty Centro and used the stopwatch function on Palmary Clock to time my daughter. It worked great.
When I got Palmary Clock, I thought that it was more program than I really needed, but I loved the beautiful blue analog clock face which I use as my desk clock. Now I find I’m using its other functions more and more: as a timer for my recently rekindled obsession with bread baking; and to look when the sun will set on a particular day next month to decide if I want to walk or drive to a meeting that starts late in the afternoon.
I also use my Centro to keep track of my daughter’s many appointments, and to navigate in all the other cities we travel to in order to access her various medical specialists. In a pinch, my Centro’s games and Slingbox keep my daughter amused during long waits in doctor’s offices or long drives to see specialists. And recently, I videoed the therapist instructing my daughter to do a difficult exercise so that we could practice at home.
I think every parent of a special needs child should be issued a Centro!
