My game of the weekend is something that I have played on my Palm devices for years and it's Star Command, great for all my fellow Trekkie fans. "This is a re-creation of the old Star Fleet game of the early 80s, which was (of course) a Star Trek simulation. Names have been slightly changed for trademark purposes, now you fight Krutons (instead of Klingons) and Zingers (instead of Romulans)!
You have complete control of a starship and can manage over a dozen ship systems. Features include:
- A variety of weapons systems at your disposal; torpedos, phasers, mines, tractor beams, and transporters. Destroy or disable enemy ships, board and capture them, and tow them back to starbase.
- Cloaked Zingers that can arrive in your quadrant at any time.
- Choose short, medium, or long missions.
- Rise in rank from Ensign to Admiral.
- Earn commendations along the way, depending on your mission performance.
- Increasing challenges; as you rise in rank, your enemies become more mobile and aggressive; they will attack your starbases, which will require your aid.
- Manage a security system to deal with intruders, which can sabotage your ship's systems.
- Send out probes to explore the region of space you've been assigned to.
- Automatically saves the current mission, so you don't have to complete a game in any one sitting.
Un-registered versions can play through the 3rd rank, Lieutenant, where cloaking Zinger's begin to appear. Registration allows you to play beyond this rank and unlocks additional features and challenges. Can you become Admiral of the Fleet? " Star Command after the jump.

It seems that Google was plagued by problems this morning PalmAddict readers, I never noticed it personally but the BBC picked up on it. "Google's search service has been hit by technical problems, with users unable to access search results.
For a period on Saturday, all search results were flagged as potentially harmful, with users warned that the site "may harm your computer".
Users who clicked on their preferred search result were advised to pick another one. " The BBC news after the jump.

[From Hans] Clues emerging about features in future iPhones. "While it should come as no surprise that Apple would be working on a new iPhone, the new version number appears to signal a major architectural overhaul for Apple's mobile smartphone that is more significant than last year's iPhone 3G. This could include the use of customized "System on a Chip" components developed by Apple, using ARM processor cores and incorporating new PowerVR video and graphics processing core designs developed by Imagination Technologies." P4 in short; or as you’ve read it up there: Palm Prē™ pre-order price, is set at $399 apiece.
As reported by PreCentral; a web retailer MobileCityOnline (MCO) has revealed Palm’s newest and upcoming Prē™ price, it has been a long speculation whether Prē™ will also be fighting the iPhone in price.
The price offered by MCO is mirrored before by Palm CEO Ed Colligan’s answer when asked by Peter Kafka from All Things D (via Gizmodo) if the Prē™ would be priced less than iPhone: "Why would we do that when we have a significantly better product?" According to MCO pre-order offering, the retail price of the Prē™ is at $599.99 apiece.
And now we can all sleep tighter at night, because now you know how much money you should be saving from now on to get the Prē™ when it’s officially launched. ;-p
But then we got another thing that’s still bugging; when is the launch date of the Prē™? So far MCO still lists no ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) at the time, it’s like a mockery to the pre-order itself don’t you think?

[From Jamie Ciocco
Arlington, MA] Thanks for putting together such a great site -- seeing other people's real-world uses of their devices is a great learning tool for me. I have a magnetic whiteboard on the fridge for jotting down groceries that are needed (when something's not in the fridge, anyone can jot it on the board). When I go shopping, rather than entering everything into a list, I just snap a picture of the board.
