We all knew it was only a matter of time before the Tetris format was slightly re-jigged and became available as an App download, and Tris is that App. The App is absolutely fantastic, and free! I have always been a massive Tetris fan and was looking forward to playing it on my iPhone. Tris uses the same seven pieces that are synonymous with the Tetris original and gives them a quick colour adjustment to fit in with the 21st century by using bright purples and oranges to colour the pieces as well as making them appear more two dimensional. During game play you start at level one and gradually as your score increases the level also increases. The higher the level, the speedier the pieces come down. The great little quirk to this App is that if things are getting slightly quick, you can actually move the pieces back up, but be warned, sometimes they don’t move back up as much as you hope. I really like this App and find it great entertainment. I play it a lot on my train journey into the office and find it highly addictive. I like the challenge that the increasing levels and speed bring and think it is fun for all ages. Those who will find it especially entertaining are all those retro fans out there who couldn’t bear to put Tetris down when it was out for the gameboy!
