Good day, Sammy and fellow PalmAddicts writers and readers. Yesterday a cousin of mine from Jakarta had his engagement party here in Surabaya, so I took a one-day leave from work to attend the party. My relatives arrived in Surabaya last Thursday. Over the weekends we gathered in a local homestay house. On the night before the engagement party, my cousin (this is the same cousin who gave me the Asus laptop) showed me his new Compaq laptop and his three-years-old Play Station Portable. While I have seen Play Station Portable several times, either directly in local shops or the pictures on the web, that was actually the first time I held the device on my hands. My cousin showed me the Prince of Persia videogame there. I must say I am yet to be accustomed to the control. Nifty portable gaming device, it is.
Well, the homestay house has a Wi-fi hotspot, so on Saturday morning before the party I fired up my O2 Xda IIi PDA Phone to try accessing the internet. Too bad the network was down. I asked my cousin and he said that it was alright the night before (he accessed the net with his laptop), but he also could not browse the net that morning. Well, it was about time to go to the party, so we did not try longer. In the evening at that homestay house I also saw a couple of foreigner guests (I notice a lot of foreigners in this homestay house. Judging from their accent, they are probably Europeans) with laptops accessing the internet. I guess the network was up again in the afternoon, but I did not try again. Maybe I'll try later or tomorrow night if I can still visit the homestay house (Half of my relatives are still staying, while the rest go back to their respective cities this morning).
