Linux and Netbooks

I caught an interesting article on Liliputing here. I have also submitted that article to the FSDaily here. Well, regardless of whether the analysis is correct or not, the emerging arrays of netbooks lately surely has helped raising the popularity of Linux, albeit the more proprietary Linux such as Xandros. Even if it is true that more and more people will want the more familiar Windows on their netbooks, surely by now they also realize that they have a choice to go with Linux if they want to. Chances are some people may not have contact with Linux prior to these netbook "invasions" but now at least they have heard about it, and that is a good first step. I agree with the article that these netbooks show that Linux is not just for geeks. If the problem is about software addition, I guess a better repository system or perhaps a better installation procedure should be developed as the next step so that users are comfortable.
