[From Peter Perez (Queens, New York)] Sammy, with everything being compared to the iPhone, palm recently releases the Centro for Verizon. I have seen this Smartphone and it is okay for the market it was designed for but it cannot compare with the iPhone. Better yet, it will have a hard time trying to go feature for feature with the LG Voyager, Samsung Glyde or all the other Smartphone’s on the market trying to cash in on the iPhone unique interface.
If palm wishes to regain the ground it lost to the iPhone, it must take the Treo to the next level of communication. Just like apple took everyone by surprise, palm has to come out with a Smartphone that will cause everyone to forget about the iPhone.
Let’s not forget about the PDA user in the world, maybe palm could redesign the TX to incorporate features from the T5 and the apple Touch and then place this new PDA in the body of the palm V. I always liked the way the V fit in my hand.
But I digress, the only way palm will be able to hold a percentage of the Smartphone market is to think outside the box when it comes to the Treo. I would like to think that somewhere at palm headquarters, there are engineers working around the clock to accomplish this very feat of engineering excellence.
One can only dream.
