Unlocked iPhones in New York

I was in New York to day and took a picture of this iPhone sign with my iPhone.  If you can't read it it says:  Apple iPhones Unlocked In Stock. (Click on the picture for a bigger image.)

I'm seeing these signs on more and more stores every time I go into the city.  Also, it seems to me that I'm seeing more and more Blackberries and fewer and fewer Treos.  Blackberries seem to be the business phone of choice in New York.
