The iPhone: Absolutely Awesome to Obsolete

[From Brad Green, Raleigh NC USA] Rumors are flying that Apple and AT&T are breaking up for the next iteration of the iPhone. Some say they may even release two versions of the phone, one unlocked from Apple, and a locked phone from AT&T. I don't have a clue whether any of these rumors are true, but the big one in the bunch is that AT&T is supposedly going to highly subsidize the new iPhones, making them $200 with a 2-year plan. This is a normal price for a smartphone, but not a normal price for an Apple smartphone. Have they saturated the market, have they filled their niche to the point that now they are just, "some other phone" in the AT&T store? With new phones based on Google's Android software coming around the bend, it will not be long until we are seeing another worthy competitor in the smartphone arena. The question is, who will arise victorious, and will the iPhone be left in the dust?
