[From Craig
Summerville, SC] I have several Windows Mobile devices of both the "Pro" and "Standard" variety. I also have an old iPod (4th generation, I think, from 2004). I have tried to use my WM devices as true converged devices by also using them to listen to my favorite music and podcasts. Unfortunately, WM OS is intolerably clunky when it comes to handing large quantities of media files. Navigating to find what I want to listen to is a pain in the rear, so I find myself one degree shy of being truly converged because I reach for my old iPod every time I want to listen to something. The rumor mill seems to suggest that Microsoft is wisely addressing the ancient user interface paradigm they've had for all these years in response to the iPhone's success. I can only hope that they're also addressing the media-handing capabilities of their OS as well. By addressing the former without the latter, they will only be putting a pretty, finger-friendly face on a device that still can't match the iPhone's usefulness in media consumption.
