Google Maps on my Treo

I remember taking trips back in the day, when we would buy a Rand McNally road atlas and have to reference it several times when going into areas that I had not traveled in before. Making sure we took the right turn-off without getting lost for hours helped make the trip smooth and stress free.

Last week, I went to Lake Tahoe for the first time. Going from Salt Lake City to Reno was easy - head out on I-80 going west. Getting to Lake Tahoe was a bit more complicated, as was traveling on US-395 on our way to Victorville, CA.

Enter Google Maps on my Treo 755p. I loaded up the directions and refreshed it as we went through the various towns. It helped guide my way along US-395 and even as darkness came on, it helped find a shorter path to my sister's house.

It will forever be in my arsenal of tools when traveling on the road.
