There's a very good editorial at Gizmodo; it's about how Apple actually allow only
one application run at
a time on the iPhone. Yes, you read that right. It seems the iPhone engineers believe that making iPhone to do multi-tasking & run various apps on the background can make it unstable, most notable is those apps could slow down iPhone performance in general.
