Why I Love My Palm T|X
The Palm T|X is the epitome of the standalone PDA. It has plenty of RAM for your apps and data (128MB), SD Card storage for additional storage (pictures, video clips, music files, etc.), bluetooth and WiFi for connectivity, a large screen (320x480) to display everything you want, and the Palm OS, a capable operating system with lots of extensibility and a well published API for third party developers. Easy to use, easy to carry, long life battery, it's an all-around great platform. I use mine every day to check e-mail, browse the web or my RSS feeds, play games, read e-books, study my scriptures, keep track of my appointments, remember facts and keep notes, store phone numbers and addresses, keep track of my blood pressure, monitor my vehicle's fuel usage, tell time, log geocaches, check on airline flights, check the weather, find directions, keep track of expenses, make calculations, look up words (dictionary and thesaurus), note the phase of the moon, find a local repeater (amateur radio), etc. etc. etc. All this on a tiny device I can carry in my pocket. It's simply amazing.

[From Daniel] Thanks to Daniel who spotted this story which is UK related via SKY News, a phone disguised as a weapon. "A potentially lethal stun gun disguised as a mobile phone has been recovered from a city's streets. Device disguised to look like this Sony Ericsson W700. The illegal weapon, similar in appearance to a Sony Ericsson W700, can deliver a 900,000-volt electric shock when its small metal prongs are placed on a target. The shock is enough to cause serious injury, said Nottinghamshire Police, and could even prove fatal for a small child or elderly victim."
We have just recovered from 3 days without power after the huge windstorms that rocked New Jersey over the weekend. This meant no computer and I kept my iPhone use to a minimum as I had no easy way to recharge it. (Also meant no heat, lights, water, bathrooms - not a pleasant time).
Texas Instrument (TI) has just announced the reduction of its revenue forecast for the first quarter from its original guidance, which basically caused by the lack of demand for higher-end mobile phones chips; specially 3G chips. Ron Slaymaker, TI vice president expressed his concern of wireless mobile phones market, because this news could mean people in general don't need 3G mobile phones. Another concern perhaps that the 3G technology will stay for quite sometimes now before replaced with the newer one: 4G, although the 4G technology is already being tested in several countries like Japan; vendors like TI will stall the release based on low market demands.
This is indeed a sad news for technology & gadgets geek, like me. Let's us hope this news doesn't effect on the iPhone 3G, that's rumoured set to be release this year. PC World has the whole complete story right
I can't sleep! And it's already 3:02 AM in the morning here, even though I had a busy day yesterday from fixing a broken workstation computer to the installment of our new store; I'm just not tired enough to sleep. I know I have to over-exhausts myself. So I fired up the RSS agregators app in my Treo and read some interesting news, an urge to write blogs came suddenly and next thing I realized my eyes are getting heavy. I managed to share some infos for PA readers here, but I had to sent the other one as email to Sammy ;-)
So that's how moblogging (mobile blogging) act as a cure for my insomnia today, hope it'll work on you too...

Corporate business users must've feels very excited when Steve Jobs announced the availability of Microsoft Exchange Server support in iPhone v2.0 firmware update, this will open up a new path of unification between Apple & Microsoft. The first person who emails me can take the HTC TyTN II off my hands
I haven't chosen a winner from yesterday's throwaway yet due to time commitments but will get around to checking who the first person was to email yesterday later tonight. In the meantime here is the second of the promised weekend throwaway devices and it's a HTC TyTN II which to be fair is a great device but just not my cup of tea and was a review device which to be fair is just going to gather dust hence why the first person who emails me with a few lines on how they are using their mobile device gets the HTC TyTN II smartphone. Please put TUESDAY in your subject line and as always email -

I was playing Astraware's Westward last night on the Centro, most enjoyable. I was supposed to find time when I was on vacation last week but didn't get the time so finally got to sit down and play a game last night when I had a few minutes to spare and it is actually very good. It takes a little time to get into the game but it lays well and it is pretty much addictive too and with that in much it is recommended.

Today I woke up what looks a rain which isn't normal around here
because it has been a dry year. So like always I turn off my alarm on
my Palm and fireup Gizmo and checked my mail with Chattermail. Checked
the weather with Kmeteo and no surprise very bad weather.

Due to the change to the Daylight Savings Time law, the clocks on our computers here at work aren’t correct this morning, and we can’t change them without sysadmin privileges. So, I put my T|E in the cradle, turn of the auto-off while charging, and hit World Clock. Viola, desktop clock!

If your in the UK then you may be interested to know that the BBC has launched a version of its iPlayer video on demand service for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch. "It is the first time the service has been available on portable devices.
The iPhone and iPod touch are able to stream shows from the iPlayer website over wi-fi networks. The iPhone cannot stream BBC video over the cell network. A BBC developer said that the corporation was currently working on other versions of the iPlayer for "many more" devices."
