The Morning Paper comes out with an interesting editorial entitled What's More TrustWorthy, Treo Or Blackberry? "So it looks like Palm is trying to take advantage of the recent Blackberry outage by changing it's home page to state "UpTime". That is to say Treo's and Centro's don't have down time.
Does this make The Palm Treo/Centro a better buy? Well let's take a look at down time. Last year there were three Blackberry outages that put BB users into a tailspin. Already this year there has been a major BB outage sending BB users into a tailspin.
But as we speak Palm is writing checks to those who bought Treo 600's and 650's for a host of problems. I expect another round over the 700p sometime soon. Palm's aged PalmOS causes a good deal of resets and usability issues while using.
Now let's factor in carriers. AT&T users have experienced a good deal of outages this month and last year. Periodic outages and downtime occur on every major carrier, so I think it's hard to claim that any brand does not suffer "downtime" issues out of control of the brand manufacture."
