Resting with A Treo, Or Not

[From Antoine RJ Wright (Charlotte, NC, USA)] I have driven for the second time in three weeks to Philly from Charlotte and my Treo has been a big part of this trip. While it is that I have done a lot from laptops, it was my Treo that has come in handy in terms of contacting old friends and wishing them well on this Thanksgiving.

But then, there is that moment of my Treo being slightly fustrating, and so I've just completed doing a hard reset and only loading up a few apps. I think that I have gotten away from the core use of it with several of the programs that I have. Now, I've done very well in using programs such as Splash Money and TMP. But I just need a bit more. I'd love for more of my programs to talk with one another, be like the Snap! application and connect a ton of information that I normally use.

Then also, I've spent a whole lot of time on Jaiku (think Twitter, but doesn't go down and is nicer). I would love for there to be an applicaion for PalmOS Treos that is similar to the Jaiku client on Nokia devices. The idea of having an address book that is one part contacting people, and then the more exciting part of being able to blog and comment to microblogs from it. Being able to connect is what Treos are about, and a Jaiku client would really be perfect. Alas, my Treo has just played on the sidelines for that aspect, but it does visist the mobile site from time to time just fine.

I cannot speak for most, but I am happy with my Treo (despite the missing pieces). Its not the newset, but it does have a niche that WM, Symbian and the iPhone just cannot fill for me. They are all close, but not quite there. I wish that the next Treo gets there, because Palm deserves a solid device in its stable once again. But until then, I'll just rest with what I have, making my Treo the road warrior online, that I am in my car offline.
