Proporta has sent me two of their Alu-leather cases for the iPhone. The one on the left is the new Sheepskin case and can be found here for $34.95. It comes in pink and brown.
The one on the right is their standard Alu-leather case and can be found here for for $34.95. The major difference between the cases seems to be the leather. The sheepskin case is softer to the touch and feels better in the hand.
Both cases flip open from the top and have a compartment that will hold a credit card or a few business cards. The slip-in holders look insecure, but in practice the iPhone is not going anywhere. They hold nice and tight. Of course, the front cover has a solid, thick sheet of aluminum which will protect the iPhone from just about anything.
Both cases have a magnetic snap holder and the edges slightly overlap the sides of the iPhone. This will give nice protection if the iPhone falls and drops on its side. Also, both cases have a optional belt clip that can be attached to a holder that can screw into the case. This is my only complaint. The belt clip is thick and sticks out quite a ways from your belt, leaving the phone sort of hanging there. I would suggest that Proporta go to a thinner clip that hugs your side a bit more. Other than this, the cases provide excellent protection and you should certainly consider them in your case searches. If you are like me, you'll have 5 or 6 different cases anyway. Add the Proporta to your stable. (I'm so sick of black that even though I'm a guy I'm going to be using the pink case. It also makes the phone pretty easy to find when you put it down!)
