Kudos to Kinoma - Treo680 and PDAReach

[From Dave Snyder, Sidney, Ohio] Hello, The more I work with Kinoma Player for Palm the more I appreciate the mobile access to the whole world of streaming audio. From NPR and Car Talk to to classical Baroque to Seinfeld, to Fox News Radio and beyond .....even Palm Addict podcasts..... any time I want them if my wireless connection is solid.
I wanted certain conservative and other genre stations not available in the Kinoma selection of preloaded URLS for audio streaming---so I have worked out a very simple and convenient way to connect to ANY audio streaming download I may want to bookmark on my Kinoma powered Palm Treo 680. I also use PDAReach so my entire Treo 680 display is interfaced with my computer keyboard, mouse and monitor for easy copy and paste moves--- OR-- one can just use the Treo keypad and manually type in the URLS--but some are quite long ---anyway---here's how:
I go to my desktop internet connection--- I open any audio stream I find I want from the internet. If the web site has it's own media player -- I simply right click on the player, click properties, and copy the entire URL. Or if it is just a link, I open it with my JetAudio Media Player(free) or use any player----and right click the player and see "properties" of the URL I am streaming. I then copy and paste the entire URL into the Kinoma URL line by going to my Treo screen via PDAReach (or just open Kinoma on the Treo). With Kinoma Player open --I click the upper left corner to "Open URL" ----paste the entire audio stream URL ---then click "OK"--- then click "Bookmark". In moments with a good wireless connection--- Kinoma downloads and plays the stream ----it's a beautiful thing. So far, i am finding it handles most audio streams without too many drop-outs. If it does drop out or pause due to a weak signal while traveling-- it will resume right where it left off.
Now I have a quick list of all the specific web and radio stream URL bookmarks I want--- not just those pre-loaded by Kinoma.
With PDAReach allowing me to interface with my Treo doing everything on my monitor screen, the whole process of copying and pasting URLs from computer to Treo is reduced to seconds. With PDAReach there is no typing URLs. No complicated podcast download software needed.
So quick so simple -- Now, with Kinoma, where ever I have a wireless connection I can listen to any podcast or live stream I have bookmarked.
Unless I have missed it-- I have not found such a step by step process as above described on the Kinoma website or forum to simplify how a novice like me can get the free streaming media now widely available on the web into my mobile.
