Treo Comfortably

[From Antoine RJ Wright (Charlotte, NC, USA)] Greetings Sammy et al; I am pretty sure that many of us write in because we are happy with our devices, or in some way we are hoping that the smaller (and sometimes larger) gripes that we have might be remedied by Palm or someone just as usable. But chances are, being comfortable just is not the way that technology goes. We get and we like; we see and we want. It happens. But what happens when we get to that state of contentment? Does it mean that the new devices no longer have allure? I would say not. They do. But what they do we make these decsions to not run after those things so that some level of comfort can remain.

This idea of contentment, or 'Treo Comfortably," is something that my weekend's experience with the iPhone and iPod touch have reinforced. Yes, there is better and nicer. And sometimes more capable, but there is something to be said about being in that spot where you are intimately comfortable with that device you have. You are able to enjoy life just a bit more. And by chance, see someting you might not had before.

I sit now, after Bible study and a meeting with a friend from church, listening to some Fred Hammond Pages of Life Vol.1 via PocketTunes, and I'm finally understanding that I can rest a bit. Do I like the Moto ROKR E8's haptic feedback? Yes. Do I like te slimness of the iPhone? Yes. I also know that where I am right now, I need only to be comfortable enough with mobile computing to enjoy life around me. Its a work in progress, and takes every day of some careful attention. But like my faith's walk, appreciating the gift of tech is something that I feel blessed to be able to take part in.
