[From Steve Holden] Haven't posted much since finally relying on my WM5 PDA, and retiring the T3 (although I can't quite let it go yet). I'm currently using an Axim X51v, and now that I have a full VGA screen PDA, cannot go back to QVGA, or the T3, whose rez is between the two. I recently bought a Samsung Q1P UMPC for work use (belongs to work, not me), and have found that even with a nice form factor, I still tend to only carry my PDA with me everywhere. I do take the Q1P to a lot more places than I would consider lugging my full tablet PC (Tecra M4), but it's still a little too large to carry out and about...maybe the OQO will fill that gap for my personal use?? For personal use, I find reading on the Axim (something I do a lot - books and RSS feeds) with VGA is pretty good, and it's small enough to hold one-handed comfortably. The Q1P, while at 1024x600 shows more text, it's not really a one-hander, and I find my wrists becoming tired when reading...Axim wins again. For work/office use, the Q1P is great...I can view/edit excel and word docs easily, and Outlook (2007) is great on the small screen. Even at VGA resolution, the Axim fails to have enough screen real-estate. The Tablet PC (1400x1050 screen - gorgeous, but too heavy to carry for long) stays in it's dock almost 100% of the time, and the Q1P comes on trips and to meetings. So overall, for my use, a PDA is still the sweet spot for personal use, and a UMPC is perfect for work purposes....
