[From Katrina at Proporta] Proporta carries the Freedom Mini Duo Keyboard… For those who like to email or word process on the go – it is not always convenient to carry a laptop, or full-sized keyboard with you whilst on your travels. Busy conference rooms, trains and other tight spaces just won’t allow it, which is why Proporta are happy to introduce the Freedom Mini Duo Keyboard.

Simply explained…

The Freedom Mini Duo Keyboard is just over the size of a credit card when closed, and opens out to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard with 63 individual keys – you can connect via Bluetooth to your PDA or Smartphone and write an email or document much more quickly and efficiently.

The product comes with a leather pouch containing two credit card slots, so that you can easily and conveniently carry the keyboard with you at all times, safe in the knowledge that it is protected in your bag or pocket.

The technicals…

It is the first product in the Freedom Mini Keyboard Series to boast “Dual Standard” - operated by a slide switch, the Mini Duo Keyboard allows you to choose between the SPP (Serial Port Profile) mode or the HID (Human Interface Device) mode.

SPP makes it compatible with BlackBerrys, Smartphones and most other advanced Bluetooth enabled Mobile Phones and PDAs. Associated drivers that are provided with the keyboard allow short cuts and programmable keys to be used. The HID mode allows “Out of the Box” Alphanumeric compatibility with many products, including PCs, Laptops and many PDAs using the HID technology.

The internal battery gives up to 9hrs of continuous use and 45hrs of standby time. It is rechargeable via the provided USB cable, meaning that it can be charged at home, in the office or on the move with Proporta’s large range of charging solutions, such as the USB Mobile Device Charger with Car and World AC Power. The Tricolour indicator lights – Red, Green, Yellow show activity, connection and charging. A version 1.2 Bluetooth chip set is also used, giving up to 10m operating distance.
