Review of Glinx
Glinx is a fantastic game that I have uploaded onto my Palm device today from Astraware. When entering into Glinx you will see a screen with two different game types and a help button if you would like to play this game to pass the boring hours I would choose the unlimited game. On clicking into the unlimited game you will be prompted with instructions on how to play once reading them and understanding click ok and then you are ready to play the game now on the grid different coloured shapes will appear and the aim of the game is to link the colours up making as long a chain as possible by tapping them and you will see a black line linked between each coloured shape and then tap on the last link of the chain and the colours will disappear when you have removed all the coloured shapes from the grid you will move onto the next level when you move up a level there is even more shapes added to the grid to make it harder to make a longer chain of colour, the only help you will have on level two and three is a circle with a flashing plus sign this is called a linker this will attach to any coloured shape to make a chain and a shape that will flash all the different colours this also can attach to any colour to make a longer chain for more points.
Once you reach level four you will find that the grid has a lot more shapes in it and there is also yellow blocks in the grid which cannot be removed this is an obstacle to make it harder for you to make chains. Again there is something to help you it is called the Glinx this is a star shape symbol in the middle of the screen which when you touch a coloured shape and then touch the Glinx the Glinx will spin and the coloured shapes will disappear this is to help you get rid of the colours which cant be made into a long chain because of obstacles in the way. The levels after this are pretty much the same apart from it gets harder to make links but this game can go on for hours as it is unlimited.
At the top of the game screen you can keep watch on your score and the level you are on and in between each level you will see a block in the middle of the screen which will tell you your average chain length and the longest chain length you made during that level. If you go onto the timed game the game play is identical except you are against the time and if you don’t remove all the coloured shapes before the time runs out it is game over and you have to start again. The graphics are very colourful and easy to see. This game is one of my favourites at the moment and it helps pass time when you have nothing to do. I would recommend this game to anyone as it is a fun and addictive game to play!!
Glinx is available from Astraware for $9.95
