My Review of Cake Mania

Cakemania_preview_1

Ok, I know many of you are thinking, Joshua you are reviewing and have been playing a game about making cakes?! That's right and I'm proud of it. I've been baking, frosting, and GASP! decorating cakes on my Lifedrive. Now any of you guys look at it this way, you finally have a chance to tell a woman what to do in the kitchen and she won't say anything in return! (Right now I'm taking cover because I'm probably going to get it from all the ladies for that comment!) Well, lets quickly get on to the review of Cake Mania!

Reciepe for Cake Mania
Ingredient #1 - One good story line

If you are going to make a good game, you better have a good story. The story of Cake Mania begins with a girl named, Jill, who is trying to win back her grandparents bakery. In comic book style, you learn more of the story and what it will take for you to help Jill on her way to the top!

Ingredient #2 - 5 cups of fun graphics

Its Astraware's best qaulity with their game: cool graphics! And Cake Mania has a lot of them. You will serve and help many different colorful characters like Cupid and Dracula. I understand why Cupid is getting cakes (he's always asking for the heart shaped ones), but Dracula? Well, I guess he just needed a quick bite! :)

Ingredient #3 - 2 tb of exteme mind bending challenges

If you consider yourself a multitasker, Cake Mania will prove you're not as good as you think! The customers seem rather amenable, but as you progress their patience with you grows short. Soon you found yourself hurriedly making orders and trying to keep the customers happy with TV and cupcakes. But you better hurry, because if they leave without their cake you lose money! Not to mention I don't like the idea of ticking off Dracula or Cupid!!

Ingredient #4 - Lots of replayability

Cake Mania is a game that gives you many ways to be the best baker on your block. As you earn money, you can upgrade your kitchen any way you want. However, some upgrades may not be necessary and others might not help you in the later levels. I haven't found a balance yet, but the instant froster has proven to be a huge help in my cake making. If you fail try a different method and you'll be surprise at what it will take and won't to win the game.

Mixing Directions:

Take all the above and mix it together and you'll find yourself up to your neck with happy customers, upset customers, dough, frosting, and plenty of cake toppings.

Baking Time:
Hours and Hours

Conclusion:

Cake Mania is a multitasker's dream game. Now all those days of showing your friends how you can multitask so many items at once, you sharpen them even more with Cake Mania.

Pros:
- Excellent replayability
- Smooth Graphics
- Great Support from Astraware (had issues with a pervious version and Kieren did a wonderful job correcting the issue!)

Cons:
- Large file (The prc is 2.44 mb, but that's because of its graphics and such)

Cake Mania will be released on October 11 and the pricing also will be revealed that day. So boys and girls, start saving that dough!
