How I used my Tungsten|W

[From Gerard Vanderveken, Belgium] My brother came to see me and asked if I own a compass. I said: "No, why do you need one?" Well, he was considering to buy solar panels and needed to know the orientation of his house. "I can calculate that with my Palm" I said. He looked at me with great eyes, full of unbelieve. "Just watch the sun and when it is in line with the walls, note the time and send it to me in an email. I will then calculate it with my Palm."
On sunday I received a mail with his time observation. First I looked up the geographic location of his address with DigiMap, my navigator program. Then I started Astro Info. It's on SourceForge and contain an eternal star almanac for the planets and thousands of objects in four catalogs. I filled in his longitude and latitude in the parameters. I selected 'our own star' the sun and adjusted the time and all relevant data were immediatly shown.. I copied the azimuth value and send him a reply message. Quick, easy and accurate. Yeah, that's my Palm!
