Many of us who use Treos have been moaning about Palm's lack of enthusiasm about providing Wifi drivers for our beloved pda phones. I for one don't really miss it. Wifi is not ubiquitous. A true road warrior would rely on gprs/edge for mobile data access. if you don't have a data plan that could get a little expensive. What I do though is to setup 'bluetooth access points' (I have one at home and two at work) using cheap usb bt adaptors (costing less than US$10) and the free app mrouter to connect my Treo to home and work broadband. PIC's instructions are succinct and very easy to follow.
I recall Kraig mentioning using a Belkin Bluetooth Access Point. This looks cool and you don't need to have a PC with the BT USB adaptor/mrouter setup as the "BT Access Point" but is much more expensive (US$150 vs US$10).
Oh and Happy 7th Birthday PalmAddicts!!
