More Samsung Q1 Thoughts

I have to thank Sammy again for giving away the Samsung Q1 UMPC at the NYC PalmAddict meetup, what an awesome prize:) I will be publishing a full review at PalmAddict in the near future, but wanted to share some things. I took the Q1 with me to the Hamptons this weekend to show it off to my friends, they thought it was the coolest thing. I knew that I'd have at least a 2 hour trip back home (I wasn't driving), so I wanted to get the Q1 online with my Treo 700p. Let me just say setting up BT DUN on a Mac is sooo much easier than on a Windows device, but I digress. I finally managed to get online using Sprint's EV-DO network, and using an awesome program from mobile-stream called USB Modem . It allows you to connect your Treo either via it's USB cable, or via BT to get your Laptop, or in my case, UMPC to get online. I was very happy that it worked. I was then able to read all my favorite sites, respond to emails, instant message all on a device that is the size of a paperback book. I know that I could do all of these things with my Treo 700p, but it's so much more fun on a bigger screen, and also because I can (thanks to Sammy). The UMPC is great!!! I am still figuring things out. I thought I would like the keyboard that appears on the left and right hand sides on screen to thumb-type, but it's not "there" yet, I've been using the on screen touch keyboard. One thing I love is that I can set iTunes to look for shared music, I share out my iMac's iTunes library so I can listen to my whole iTunes library from my iMac on my Q1 while I'm in my pool (this is why I love technology):) I'll have to run a few more tests, and check out extended batteries for the Q1, but battery life is around 2 hours, not bad, but not great. I'll look into this, and different settings to get the most out of the Q1 for my full review. Stay tuned. Thanks a million Sammy!!!!
