Resco Photo Viewer

So I had just about gotten tired of the extremely slow-loading photo viewer that comes bundled with the Palm software on mt Treo 650. I cringed each time I had to open a picture; and I especially hated that because I like to use the viewer function. Enter Resco Viewer. (big thanks to Jan in the Palm dept at Resco for allowing me the opportunity to test out the software.)

I like it! That's pretty much the nuts and bolts really....
But of course I am going to elaborate, or else I'd be called a bore and no one really wants that now do they (wink).

First of all, Resco Photo Viewer is very very very fast. Fast loading and the ability to choose from different folders makes it so easy to use. (see pic at right)
You simply scroll to the folder you want (either on the Palm RAM or, most efficiently, on your SD card), tap or use your nav pad on the folder you want, and the pics located in the folder load within 1-2 seconds on the right side pane.
Simply click on the pic and it gives you numerous options including move, delete, and resize. Very cool option loader to have at your fingertips. More than the Photo viewer built in for sure.

You have many different options you can use to personalize your Viewer. You can view by pics, pics and name, as well as list view. This gives you the opportunity to either see the most info about the pic as you need, or simply the pretty little faces you are yearning to look at!

Don't forget the slideshow. It gives a few animated options as well to personalize your view in slideshow. You can go from looking at one pic to viewing a slideshow with the current folder in just one press too! which I found useful and cool to show friends when I dont feel like tapping on each photo.

I am going to let you check out the software to see all the different prefs you can personalize to your own needs. Also a global color change to mix it up just a little bit. Finally you are also allowed to view some specific tips to help you get the most out of the software.

Usually I try to look for at least one portion of a software I look at for needs improvement. Fortunately I just can't seem to find anything I don't like about Resco Viewer. I am extremely happy with the viewer and have not even touched the built in viewer in the past month. A while back I became a fan of Resco Backup as well so it is good to see a company that works hard improving their products and continues to put out updates as well.

There is a fully useful trial period for 14 days, then you will need your registration key to unlock the software. It is 24.95$ for the full version. Some may feel a little on the high end. Possible... But it has become such a mainstay on my Palm that my viewer has finally become one of my top 3 most used apps on my Treo 650 which is what I have wanted all along. Too bad Palm refuses to fix theirs as Resco has really stepped up nicely!!!
