A Dirty Job: A Novel (a|e)book

[A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore] I don’t know why I didn’t think to make this recommendation earlier. Surely most of you have figured out that I’m a big fan of audio books, and apparently someone around here likes ebooks :-D

One of the books I have enjoyed the most in recent history is: A Dirty Job: A Novel by Christopher Moore. It was one of my first purchases when I became a member of Audible.com

It’s a novel. In fact it’s a novel novel. I don’t want to give too much of it away, but if you haven’t read Christopher Moore yet, this would be a great introduction to his writing.

I “read” this book over a series of long car trips recently and laughed out loud (fortunately I was alone). He has a wonderful writing style and an amazing way with words. (Since this is a family site let me note that Moore will drop the occasional swear word, but nothing much worse than you are likely to hear at the average movie, but enough that you wouldn’t want your kids in the car when you’re listening to it.)

If you haven’t tried Audible yet, let me recommend their 3 Free Audible.com books deal. Try it out and see if you like it. They also have an amazingly cool piece of software called AudibleAir which lets you download items from your library over the air. (Read the review of AudibleAir at TreoCentral)

If you want to checkout the audiobook, go here: A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore (Audible.com) (NOTE: you can hear a sample of the book at that site). They did a really good job at getting a narrator for this book, which is even more important than a readable font size in a printed book.

If you’re looking for the eBook, try A Dirty Job (ereader).

If you’d like to learn more about the book/author (or get a Dead Tree copy of the book), the official Amazon.com page is always a good place to start.

You can even read an excerpt courtesy of eReader.com.

Happy reading, or listening, or whatever....

ps - (a|e)book... "abook" = audio book... ebook is an ebook.... so (a|e)book is something which is available either as an audio book or an ebook. Clever, eh?
