The Little Lion Cub

The relative lack of children-oriented applications for the Palm, of which I became aware as soon as I got my first Palm a few years ago and had to look around a lot for something that would interest my daughter – makes every new release in this category a real bliss. The most recent one I have been aware of, and would like to turn your attention to (or at least those of you who have small kids around them) is "The Little Lion Cub", recently released by a new Palm OS developer, Eliram Haklai.
Not really a Palm application per se, The Little Lion Cub is a pictured story, telling, as you might expect, the tale of a little lion cub and his adventures in the jungle. The story is accompanied by approximately a score of really beautiful photos of colored-clay miniatures (I'm not sure whether it is Plasticine or Fimo), and has a few variations on the ending based on a single choice-point.
Though quite charming, I did feel that the Little Lion Cub missed the marked by not really making use of any of the Palm' interactive or computer-based capabilities, making it no more than a pictured story. In my opinion some minor additions such as sound effects, music or more interactivity could have greatly improved on the overall experience. Still, for the Parent-on-the-go, the opportunity of having something interesting to show & tell your young one(s), could come in handy, and I certainly hope this is just a first of many to come…
Hugs,
