Bubble Ship Boy from Little Big Mobile Entertainment is a new game out on the block. It takes 80's
inspired graphics (which in places remind me of Commander Keen from the good old days) and adds simple but addictive game play.
The premise of Bubble Ship Boy is to pilot your craft (bubble) upwards and to avoid the bad guys, you start at the sea bed, float up to the sky, then into space and finally into the bad guy's ship. There are only 4 levels, however
4 is enough, in fact I think it is just right, you can complete it in the brief few minutes you have on the bus for example, you then go to play again and it doesn't feel repetitive. I'll admit I didn’t complete it too often as I found the third level quite tricky!
The game has two difficulty settings, easy and hard, you can also choose from 3 different ships; a slow well shielded one, a medium speed and shield one and a fast and lightly shielded one, these further extend the variety of the game play.
The cut-scenes themselves show the main character, n-droo who is a rather cute alien and a few other characters with on-screen text that give the game it's story line.
I have been playing Bubble Ship Boy quite a bit recently; in fact I haven't played anything else particularly on my Lifedrive! Bubble Ship Boy is one of these games you keep coming back to playing for no reason other than its addictive and excellent, I have to say it comes HIGHLY recommended!
