Daily Reader

[From Henry Kong at Henry's 3Cs site] Laridian is well known for their Bibles operated by their MyBible engine. Not as well known is another great engine, DailyReader. Only US$9.90 - imho it is a great deal. It can be used with Mybible4 as the passages are hyper-linked and are called to screen with one tap of the stylus.

The entire user graphic interface is very clean and easy to use. In fact I find it a little too simplistic and look forward to more features in future. For example, a table of contents would be useful, instead of just a front page overall especially for modules like Bible History and Hymnals. However, as a Daily Bible Reader, it is more than adequate.

Also the menu bar starts with the all too obvious Daily Reader name. It would be nice if you are using a module, eg My Utmost for His Highest, to have MUFHH instead, especially if you have more than just one module. Then there are the left and right arrows to point to previous or coming day's reading.

Beside daily bible readings, the Daily Reader also runs the many good modules below (also US$9.90 each) like: By Faith Alone, A Daily Dose of the American Dream, Spurgeon's Daily Treasury from the Psalms and Experiencing God. There are also free modules like Daily Light on the Daily Path KJV, Morning and Evening and Laridian Reading Plans.

Sometimes it is not the great big programs that makes the Palm so useful as these little touches that gives life its special lift.
