4Casts For People on the Move!
Shimon Shnitzer has created a variety of applications that caters to the mobile community worldwide. One of the most notable software is the weather forecast browser, 4Cast . This is a versatile program that can be used on a smartphone, PDA or non-wireless PDA. Your forecasts can be viewed as a separate application in one of your tabs, or it can be placed as a plug-in.
4Cast draws its most recent weather forecasts by logging onto the weather.yahoo.com site. Since I have yet to install any wireless capabilities on my Zire 72s, I download the latest weather forecasts each time I hotsync. Users can choose to have 4Cast refresh anywhere from 1 hour to 5 days by choosing from the drop-down menus in the Preferences section. Or, users can manually refresh the program by simply tapping the “rotating arrows icon”. There is also an option to use Fahrenheit or Celsius, depending on what part of the world you are in.
The topmost forecast on the first line automatically updates every few seconds giving users the most up-to-date information at a glance. It will tell you the current day’s highs and lows as well as what it feels like outside. Moreover, further scrolling down the page, users are given greater details regarding the wind, humidity/Dewpoint, Visibility, Barometer, and Sunrise/set. There are a host of cities all over the world you can choose from. Simply tap “add” and the city will be included in the forecasts. If you can connect onto the internet wirelessly, you can also view helpful weather maps from various regions around the world.
4Cast is THE weather forecast browser for people on the go. With high resolution graphics and an intuitive design, using this versatile application is very simple. It is a full featured application that clearly displays detailed weather forecasts over a 5 day period. It can be used as a stand alone application or as a ZLauncher plug-in. If you are someone who travels often or, you just want to keep tabs on your city’s weather, then this application is for you!
"Visit ShSh Software here and check out 4Cast and more software that will “Take telephony into your Palm”.
