Strange Adventures in Infinite Space - game review
Strange Adventures in Infinite Space (SAIS) is something for all of Palm Addicts who dreamed of flying the Enterprise or Voyager on their own. While you can fing some such games for the PC/Mac platform, getting one on the Palm was not an easy task.
Thats why I like SAIS from Astraware so much. You are freelancer pilot who is bound to discover galaxy under financial agreement with planetary mogul. Goal is to visit as much planets as possible and take anything that may have value! But beware! There are aliens that may want your ship destroyed... and black holes that may suck ship inside them... and unexpeced nova explosions...
You get to choose your ship and its weapons (guns/lasers/missiles), size of the galaxy (defined by nebula mass) and number of the enemies to encounter.
And off you go! At the beginning, your ship will be orbiting around the Hope planet. Remember where it is as you will have to come back there to finalize you deal with sponsor.
Tap on any star on the map and get the go/no-go screen where you will see some basic info about the star and possible planets. Hit "Engage" button (reminds of something?) and start journey.
Upon arrival you may see one of the possibilities: planet is deserted and you get your revard without problems; or you encounter alien spacecraft. Of course there are also good aliens - they will make trade with you or become allies and support you with their ship.
But aliens with enemy agenda are much more often encountered...
And then you have to prepare for the battle! If you win, treasures of the planet will be yours to take. And if you don't... Well, at least your ship will make a beautiful explosion!
It is advisable to take "Tutorial" mission to get used to the controls and game setup.
Unfortunately, there is a problem with my screenshooter (ZGrab) and I can't get good screens from the game :(
Well, maybe you will give it a try and see for yourself! Especially check the "Intermission" screen - I found it very funny indeed :)
