10 years of personal palming!

Hey everyone! I'm pleased to be able to post on this fantastic blog site for Palm Addicts! Just wanted to fire off a first entry here.

I've been using Palms for 10 years now! Here's a brief rundown:
• Began using the Handspring Visor Deluxe (blue) as a campus minister for the Baptist Collegiate Ministry back in 1995. Oh, I thought I was so hip with this large slab of high tech plastic!
Pegtj25
• Upgraded to a Sony Clie PEG-TJ25. In my state of rookie-Palmness, I had no idea at the time what a headache it would be to get it to sync with my Mac! After hours of frustration, I stumbled across Markspace's brilliant Missing Sync and was back in business.
• Lost the PEG and upgraded to another Clie, the PEG-T665C which could do MP3's etc.
• Went through a 3 year period where I became disorganized, quit using the Palm, and fell from grace..
• Purchased a smartphone earlier this year - the Audiovox SMT5600 - and was appalled at how difficult syncing was. I tried Markspace and Pocketmac, to no avail. Both were buggy and extremely frustrating! After hours of throwing small animals, I finally came to my senses and...
• Got me a Treo 600. Wow. Can we say how pleased I am with this phone/PDA? I am now looking at upgrading to the Treo 650.

Overall, I've got to say how pleased I am with how well Palm devices sync with the Mac OS X platform. I running Tiger 10.4.4, and having no problems. On the other hand, it HAS been 10 years since I picked up one of these Palms, and I'm a little disappointed that there hasn't been as significant a change in the Palm OS as there has been in the Mac OS. It's relatively the same.

However, functionality has always been there! Thanks Palm! I just sold my original Visor Deluxe on Ebay the other day for about $32. I paid $169. That kind of financial nostalgia hurts the pocketbook, but it was a great unit, and I got my money's worth out of it.

Feel free to contact me with any Palm questions you might have. I'm no expert, but I'm tenacious about solving problems!
