My Review of 2005 / Palm Addict Excellence Award 2005

So its the end of the year almost and I hope that each of you have had a good 2005. On the whole mine was a good one and from a PDA point of view it saw me going from a TC to a LifeDrive and back to a TC. It also saw more articles than ever before talk and cover the deminish of the PDA which I am pleased to say that the PDA is still alive. We also saw many sites including many websites say that palm was dying and that the PPC would be the device most executives would choose however we saw many arguments posted by you the reader to state why Palm OS was your chosen operating system.

This year has been a busy year for me personally I have travelled more this year than any other year previous. PA has been loked after by Jan our great and fantastic Deputy Editor from the US who does a tremendous job and I thank her for all the hard work she undertakes. Jennifer does a great job in looking at the tech industry as a whole and seeing what's happening in th PDA world. Lindsey my assistant has been great and she also finds the time to look after the site aqnd update in the mornings. The AW writers do a spectacular job in joining me in my hobby.

I have had enjoyed some fantastic websites this year but because of my time constraints most of my time I check the web through the marvel of RSS feeds and have enjoyed sites such as Engadget, the MobileRead, Gizmodo amongst others. RSS has really helped me out and it allows me to check the headlines of Palm and PDA websites across the internet.

Its easy to forget but PalmAddict is a hobby that I enjoy undertakinjg but one has to remember that its only a website. From time to time I get people who email asking can we do something different to cater for them or add more Linux or Windows Mobile content and the reason I don’t take these suggestions onboard is because I’m happy with PA. Another great thing I like about PA is the great people I converse with everyday. We have some great webmasters and readers I speak to weekly from both Palm websites but also Pocket PC sites through general tech mainstream sites. You guys are lovely people and I have made fantastic friends over the last six and a half years. A lot of readers come from various spiritual and religious faiths and I applaud you all and thank you for allowing PA to be a part of your faith because we have had many posts related to various faiths on the site over the years.

One thing I like to upkeep on PA is being positive. I believe that were my site is involved everyone should find this corner of the web a nice place to be, no arguments, no criticism, no disagreement on what operating system people have on their PDA's, PA is a tolerant place to be and I intend to keep it positive.

So as it's the end of the year I am going to announce the Palm Addict Excellence Award, which lists my personal favorites and achievements from the Palm community over the last year.

Favorite Palm Product:
The LifeDrive for it being innovative and a great all round device

Best Software:
TripBoss for actually helping me with my travels this year it should have won the Palm powered Up award. Every traveller should use it and it should come as standard on all new Palm devices.

Favorite Person in the Palm community"
Jan Galibraith because she is always there at short notice when I need her and most of all she is a true friend who understands how many hours a day I work on PA.

Favorite website:
MobileRead because it serves my hunger for tech news and gives me all the information I need alongside with Engadget and Gizmodo. Plus the guys there are enthusiastic and decent genuine chaps.

Palm personality of the Year:
This goes to Ed Colligan from Palm who sends me emails and responds to front page postings and lets me know what goes on at Palm. For this man who is a real nice bloke to write to me when he has a busy schedule is very nice of him and I am glad he reads PA.

Thanks to you the reader for being a part of my hobby. Happy New Year Palm Addicts.
