Review of TraxItAll

Logscreendata_1

I was asked several weeks ago to do a review of this program. At first look, I didn't think much of the program, but after a few weeks of testing TraxItAll. I found myself in utter shame.
TraxItAll is a goal tracking program that enables you to record your goals using your Palm device. What makes the program unique is that you can review your progress through a monthly, quarterly, yearly, total and custom reports and these reports are based on your unique settings for each goal.

My Mileage (or lack there of according to TraxItAll)

For the past several weeks I kept track of several items. One of them was my morning running. After creating the goal, I would check it off by a simple yes or no. At the end of August I could generate a report and see my progress. It detailed my progress weekly so I could see which weeks I had a high percent of completion and which weeks I had a low percent of completion. I felt this would be extremely helpful for people who need to see how well they are performing. It would make procrastinators hate themselves. :(

Goal Setting

When you create a goal, you give it a name and a proper category. Then you can choose to keep track of the goal by yes/no, a daily count, or an average. I used the yes/no feature for my give-a-compliment-to-someone-a-day goal and I also tried the daily count goal to see how many miles I ran for the week. I did not use the average feature although I think this option would be good for goals that you want to see the averages like weight or stocks or your daily averages of pizza slices.

The Interface
The interface of the program is fairly simple and easy to understand. It is a spread sheet like interface and on my lifedrive I can view 3 columns of goals in portrait mode. One part of the GUI I didn't quite catch on was the arrow keys in the middle of the tool bar. I didn't realize they were arrow keys at first, probably just me. Maybe a little work could be done on the arrow keys to make them more defined though. I also would like to see the option to have different colors for goals and/or rows. That would be a big help for a quick glance at your goals and stats.

Conclusion
Nifty goal tracking program that does as the name states: TraxItAll. This program excels best at the ability to see the results of tracking your goals via different reports that detail your accomplishments or for us procrastinators our un-accomplishments. At the price of $20, it may be a little steep for some people’s pocket books, but overall, a well performing goal tracking program and well thought out with the ability for detailed reports.
